Our appointment at West End OBGYN with the best Dr. EVER (Dr. Vienne Murray, at Henrico Dr's) was scheduled for 3pm so we signed in at 2:50 and took a seat. Running a few minutes behind turned into 3:45 before we were called back. It turns out I have lost weight, yet again. To date I am at 14 lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight but I found out later that this isn't really going to be a big deal until I'm 20 weeks. Then they will fuss at me. I don't know what to say really, I'm eating ALL the TIME.
3:45 turned into 4:30 as we sat in our patient room. my feet were cold, I was antsy, ready to hear the baby and tired of playing Solitaire on my phone. (I had already lost like 4 times) Finally the nurse came in to let us know that our Dr. would not be able to see us because there had been an in house emergency that she had been called to so we would be seeing another one of the Dr's in the practice. At this point I was just happy to see anyone come through the door with the fetal heart monitor. David and I joked about heisting one while no one was looking and just figuring it out ourselves but Dr. Davis came in. She was wonderful. Answered all my questions, put my mind at ease about the weight loss and was really very good. THEN IT WAS TIME. She pulled out the fetal heart monitor and began looking for the heartbeat. At first there was nothing. I have to admit, this scared me a little. Then I mentioned that last time we found the heartbeat the baby was way down and to the right. So she moved the monitor and there it was. Strong and healthy. Here's the good part. She asked if our Doc had wagered a guess on the sex of the baby. She hadn't. So then Dr. Davis said "If I had to guess right now, I would say it's a boy."
Kinda nice that I feel like someone agrees with me. I've been saying boy all along. Had some blood drawn and then went to dinner with my parents.
The big event of the evening was finally putting the crib together. Yes, that's right. It's all in one piece now, out of the box in our guest room. AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL! David did a GREAT Job. Wanted to post some pictures so you could see it. I realize the mattress is missing, but you get the point. More pictures to come as we put up little shelves and begin to decorate some more.
We love you all!
And the initial excitement begins:) David opens the box!
Piece by piece gets leaned against the wall! So pretty! I'm especially proud of the deal that we got. It was normally $495 crib with no problems that we got on clearance for no reason at $235. Jesus was looking out for us that day:)
These are the bottom feet for the crib. David was inspecting and being silly. Got to love that the boy has an exacto knife in his mouth...
The springs go in and the silly faces continue!

Kim I am so so excited for you and Dave! I love that you're blogging through this season. You are going to be such a sweet mommy. The crib is like such a reminder that the baby is on his way. It's adorable. Love & hugs
